In honor of Manufacturing Day, Prestige Mold and Pres-Tek Plastics opened their doors and invited selected students from local high schools and universities for a plant tour and presentation. Participants were given a detailed tour covering all aspects of the mold making and molding process from Engineering to Finished Product.

Overall, we had a great turn out - allowing many participants interested in this field an up-close look at what we do as well as the success and growth that our industry can offer.

CEO Donna Pursell and her late husband Mike Koebel founded Prestige Mold in 1983 in their garage.  Following her husband’s untimely passing nearly 15 years ago, Pursell has continued to grow the operation through innovation and investment of time, energy and talent.  Assembly Member Mike Morrell met with Pursell and her management team for a brief presentation on the company, followed by an in-depth tour of the moldmaking facilities.  

Assembly Member Morrell then toured Pres-Tek Plastics next door.  Pursell created injection molding company Pres-Tek Plastics Inc. in early 2012 with the aim to develop technology solutions and turnkey packages for the existing customers of sister firm Prestige Mold.  Assembly Member Morrell was impressed with the operation and, following the tours with Pursell and her management team, spent time discussing the many challenges that manufacturers face daily.
